Better Cancer Policies
Colorectal Cancer
$20 million for colorectal cancer research program within the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program (CDMRP)
Advocacy group supporting it already:
The Department of Defense (DOD)’s Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program (CDMRP) invests in research on diseases, including various cancers. Colorectal cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer related deaths. It is also the only cancer in the top five cause of deaths that does not have its own research program within the CDMRP. Instead, CRC research funding is split with other cancers.

Congressional Colorectal Cancer Caucus (House only)

Advocacy group supporting it already:
“The Congressional CRC Caucus is a bipartisan group of members of Congress dedicated to working collaboratively to increase access to screening and advance biomedical research to ensure more effective lines of treatment, and ultimately find a cure for colorectal cancer. The caucus will help to raise awareness about the challenges faced by the colorectal cancer community among policymakers and their staff, as well as support policy solutions to improve the lives of all patients, survivors, and their loved ones.”
