The Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program (CDMRP) was initiated by Congress in 1992 to enhance medical research for the military and American public. The CDMRP produces groundbreaking innovations aimed at alleviating critical gaps in research and is funded by Congress.
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is the U.S.’s medical research agency that continues to make important discoveries for the health of our population. It is part of the Department of Health and Human Services and is funded by Congress.
